Where Is Wendy Williams?
The documentary "Where Is Wendy Williams?" discussed her financial situation, well-being, and living situation, as well as the aftermath of her losses and struggles, such as losing her show and relapsing with addiction after her divorce from Kevin Hunter.
The former talk show host is currently battling multiple illnesses, including primary progressive aphasia, graves, frontotemporal dementia, and hyperthyroidism. She also has lymphedema, a foot condition that causes her to feel only 2% of her feet.
In 2022, Wendy Williams reportedly stayed in Florida with her family after leaving her show, keeping in close contact with her only child, Kevin Hunter Jr. Her son claimed Wendy was happy and healthy while in his care, where she exercised and ate well, pursued hobbies, and spent time with family. Wendy's health was in better condition in Florida prior to April 2022.
Wells Fargo Froze Wendy Bank Accounts; Wendy's Guardian
In early 2022, Wells Fargo froze Wendy's accounts and petitioned the court for a guardianship over her, claiming she is of "unsound mind" to manage her money. Wendy and her legal team disagreed, and their attempts to reclaim her finances were unsuccessful.
While Wanda Williams, Wendy's sister, attempted to take on the role of Wendy's guardian, the judge abruptly halted the proceedings and appointed a professional guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, a complete STRANGER who is not Wendy's relative or friend. After the judge ordered Wendy to return to New York in April of 2022, she was isolated from her family. If she remained in Florida under the care of her son, the court order would consider it kidnapping.
Sabrina unsuccessfully sued Lifetime to prevent the documentary from airing, and her lawyer told Inside Edition, "Wendy did not understand what she was agreeing to when she participated in the documentary." However, Wendy Williams' first amendment rights to free speech prevented Sabrina from winning the lawsuit.
Allegedly, Sabrina sued Lifetime because she feared the documentary would reveal her negligence towards Wendy under her care in New York. The allegations of negligence included allowing the former talk show host to drink all day in bed, going to bars alone after 2:00 a.m., and falling asleep drunk in public.
My Commentary: Where Is Wendy Williams?
Usually, the most lonely person is the most popular one in the room. With all her wealth and prestige, Wendy lived alone in her New York apartment after her divorce while her only child was away at college. There's always more to the entertainment industry that meets the eyes.
Money is the driving force behind everything, and if you enter the entertainment industry, you will be tested beyond your limits to your breaking point.
Before 2017, Wendy worked on The Wendy Williams Show every single day, never missing a day until she fainted live on air. Despite fainting on live television, Wendy had to maintain a professional demeanor at all times on her show and pretend everything was fine.
However, everything was far from fine; Wendy continued to host the show while her ex-husband was being unfaithful to her, and she couldn't fully mourn her mother's death in private without drawing public attention.
Her story resonates with many Americans who have been abused and neglected by a judge-appointed professional guardian. If Wendy can experience this, so can you. Banks can determine if you're "unsound mind" to manage your finances after you sign their contract.
In states where volunteer guardianship is not offered, a judge can appoint a non-related professional guardian whom you have never met before. While earning an hourly pay, some professional guardians exploit vulnerable people by abandoning them, failing to protect them, and allowing them to self-destruct while under their supervision.
